One Month + One Week

After a couple months of checking my email everyday, and hoping that any phone calls I get are from the AFS Frenchies.... I finally have a host family! Here is what I know about them:

- Their last name is "Issarasereepong". Please don't ask me how to pronounce that.
- The father, Pairoj, is a Politician. The mother, Aree, is a stay at home mom.
- They have 4 children: 3 sons (Yokporn, Yokchai, and Korn) and 1 daughter (Krischana)
- The daughter is my age, and I will be sharing a room with her. Korn is a year younger than me, and the other two boys are both out of high school.
- They live in the district Nongchok in the Province of Bangkok, which means I'll be living in Central Thailand (somewhat near the coast)
- They have a guitar which I can use while I'm there.
- They have pet dogs.
- They are buddhist (!)
- The only one who speaks English is Krischana, except I don't think she even speaks it very well.

They sent me a couple pictures of themselves, and pictures of the kitchen area in their house and the bed I'll be sleeping in. However, I haven't quite figured out a way to upload them yet...

I also received information about the school I'll be attending. It's called the Mattayom Watnongchok School. It's huge! 3000 students in total. They have lots of neat extracurricular activities I'm excited about joining though, such as Thai dance, sword fighting, and Thai cooking. But mostly I'm just freaking out about how big the school is.... and also I'll be wearing a uniform to school, which makes it alot easier for me for packing.

Other than that, I've just been waiting to get my visa package from the AFS people. As far as I know I'm still departing from Calgary or July 1st or 2nd, but I still don't know my exact flight route.
